about
I grew up in Florida. Water was everywhere: the beach, the daily 3pm rainfalls, the dew, the creeks. Sea against shore, against mangroves, drips from leaves, upon the old sunbleached wood of marina docks.
I've heard a lot of music made for massage that relies on these sounds; that sonic palette can sometimes sound a little overexposed. My plan therefore was to combine those sounds with original music and thereby re-contextualize and refresh, to the listener's ear, the beautiful sounds of water.

Jess Hotchkiss' music is honest, pure, urgent. A tiny clearing outside of town, 3 AM, unidentifiable animals watching you from between trees. This LP to me summarizes her tremendous talent and power. C.Way
Healthy dark racket, massive drum clatter, gorgeous-ugly guitar squall. Thrilling live shows. Go listen to their cover of Roxy Music's "In Every Dream Home a Heartache". C.Way
Fans of Tindersticks, Beach Boys, great melodies & sonic splendor:flock to these songs of disarming tenderness, glorious moodiness, & sparkling songcraft.Standout: the swelling grandeur of "Winter". C.Way
Taking tradition full-on, the Kentucky cellist touches genres as far afield as folk and R&B with his iconoclastic compositions. Bandcamp New & Notable May 4, 2016
